Geordie icon Sam Fender wows Newcastle sell-out crowd at his hometown gig

Sam Fender will took to the stage at Newcastle’s St James’ Park on Friday Night as part of his two shows on Friday, June 9 and Saturday, June 10.

The wait is over, Sam Fender is finally set to fulfil his dream of performing at St James’ Park.

The NUFC fan performed the first of his two sell-out shows tonight – on the night of the Blaydon Race.

Since winning the Brits’ Critics Choice Award at the start of 2019, Sam has seen his star rise and rise, with two number 1 albums under his belt, thanks to Hypersonic Missiles and Seventeen Going Under, a top 10 single with the latter’s title track and another Brit for Best Rock/Alternative in 2022.

Sam and his band took to the stage at St James’ on Friday, June 9 and will be doing it all over again on Saturday, June 10, with well over 100,000 fans set to flock there across the weekend. While Sam’s support acts and the stage times for St James’ Park have been made public for a while, there is some mystery surrounding Sam’s setlist for Newcastle, especially given that there’s been rumours of some Newcastle legends making an appearance.
