Civic Carol Concert

South Tyneside’s school orchestra and choirs are gearing up to spread festive cheer with the return of the Civic Carol Concert.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to celebrate with an evening of festive songs on Monday 5 December from 7pm to 9.30pm at Temple Park Centre, South Shields.

The event is returning in its traditional format after two years of being held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The audience will be treated to a range of festive music from the South Tyneside orchestra alongside choirs from a number of schools, including Biddick Hall Infants, Cleadon Academy, Harton Primary, Lord Blyton, Marsden Primary, Ridgeway Academy, St Bedes RC Primary and St Oswalds RC Primary in South Shields and Westoe Crown Primary.

Tickets cost £5 per person.

Councillor Joan Atkinson, Deputy Leader of South Tyneside Council with responsibility for Culture, Leisure and the Visitor Economy, said: “We are delighted to see the concert returning to the Temple Park Centre stage once again.

“The festive season is always a wonderful time of year and being able to come together and celebrate with festive songs makes it even more special.

“We’re looking forward to watching our talented children unite with their peers and put on a fantastic festive show for the community.”

Tickets can be purchased from the Shop @ The Word and from participating schools.

This event is organised by South Tyneside Council and is part of our This is South Tyneside Christmas 2022 programme of events. Find out more at www.southtyneside.gov.uk/christmas
