North Shields Christmas Market Returned on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th December
Thousands of shoppers are supported one of the region’s most popular Christmas markets this weekend.
The North Shields Christmas Market returned on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th December, to Northumberland Square, Howard Street and the new Town Square outside the Transport Hub in North Shields town centre. Thousands of people turned up to support the event despite the weather forecast on Saturday.
The event will saw over 80 stalls selling a wide variety of festive gifts, crafts and food and drink produce.
Local churches and the Salvation Army will opened the market at 10am on the Saturday with a short service, followed by performances from local choirs and schoolchildren who will perform over the two day event.
A food and drink village was availaible at Northumberland Square which featured some of region’s favourite street food traders and bars selling mulled wine.
A selection of fairground rides and colourful character walkabouts with a chance to have photos taken was on offer across the town.
The event is organised by North Tyneside Council and supported by the Beacon Shopping Centre.
